A service which supports children and young people who have been bereaved has been given a boost with a grant from the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation.

Just ‘B’ is run by Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate and provides expert emotional wellbeing and bereavement support to young people across North Yorkshire.

Its Bereavement Support workers help young people who have lost a parent or sibling, whether through illness, accident or another cause, to learn to cope with the changes following their loss. One-to-one sessions provide a safe and trusting environment for them to explore and understand their emotion.

The Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation makes grants to children and young people and charities supporting them across Yorkshire and its main fundraiser is the annual Yorkshire Young Achievers Awards.

Vice Chairman Richard Stroud said: “We have worked with Just ‘B’ before and are very pleased to help them to continue with their valuable support for young people in this way.”
