The Foundation is made up of the following persons, each of whom bring their own experience and enthusiasm to such a worthwhile cause. We thank them all for their time, dedication and commitment.

Nicola Corp

Nicola Corp started her media career in national press then moved into radio & TV. Returning home to Yorkshire she set up her own event management & production company. She now lectures in TV programme development and volunteers in refugee support in her spare time.

Born and bred in Yorkshire, she returned home after 20 years in the media, working variously in national press, TV and radio. Nicola draws on a comprehensive marketing then production career, taking in News Group, Mirror Group Newspapers, Capital Radio, LWT, TalkbackThames and the BBC, amongst others.
Sonia Jones

Sonia is an Executive Assistant at McCormicks Solicitors, Harrogate, working closely with the Senior Partner, Peter McCormick OBE. She became a Trustee of the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation in 2012, having previously supported the charity as Secretary to the Trustees, duties which she continues to fulfil.

Sonia deals with regulatory compliance as well as the organisation and marketing of events. Sonia has been involved with the charity and with McCormicks’ other charitable and community activities since she joined the firm in 2007. She is an active member of the Harrogate business community.
Charlotte McCormick

A 2007 ambassador of education charity, Teach First. Having gained her degree from the University of Warwick, she taught English for 2 years in South London. She has spent summers in South Korea teaching English and interning at HSBC Private Bank prior to starting the Teach First Leadership Development Programme.

ollowing on from her time in the classroom, she was elected the Teach First President 2009/2010 and represented nearly 1000 Teach First teachers both internally and externally on a national level. At the end of her sabbatical year, she continued to work for the charity managing all regional private sector partnerships for Teach First including raising almost half a million pounds for the charity.

In July 2013, Charlotte left Teach First to go back into the classroom. She joined a group of 8 teachers to set up a brand new free school in London which opened in September 2013.

Zoe Webber

A business management graduate, Zoe is currently the Executive Director at Norwich City FC. Zoe has worked in the football industry for many years including spells at the Surrey County Football Association, the Premier League, Fulham Football Club, McCormicks Solicitors and Liverpool Football Club.

During her time at McCormicks Zoe joined the Yorkshire Young Achievers Awards Foundation and has played an integral role in the delivery of the Foundation’s activities ever since.

Peter McCormick OBE (Chairman)

Peter McCormick OBE is the Senior Partner of McCormicks Solicitors, Harrogate and is regarded as one of the leading media, charity and sports lawyers in the UK.

Peter was awarded the OBE in 2000 for services to charity and was named Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year and General/Niche Practice Lawyer of the Year in the same year.

Peter’s other charity and community activities include Trustee of the Football Foundation; Chairman of Football Stadia Improvement Fund Ltd; Trustee of the Helen Feather Memorial Trust; Chairman and Trustee of the War Memorials Trust; Trustee of the John Strutt Centre for Parrot Conservation; Trustee of the John Strutt Memorial Fund and Vice-President of the Festival Futures campaign for Harrogate International Festivals.
Richard Stroud MBE

Richard Stroud is a partner in The Purchasing Agency, a management consultancy based in Otley Yorkshire, which principally advises companies on increasing profits by reduction of their non-core costs. Their clients include 12 FTSE 250 companies as well as some of Yorkshires leading firms. He is also adviser and non-executive director to a number of local companies .

Richard supports a number of charities and has been involved with Yorkshire Young Achievers for 14 years.

Richard is the Vice-Chairman of the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation.

Summer 2022 – Huge congratulations to the Vice-chairman of the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation, Richard Stroud, who has been awarded the MBE in the Jubilee Honours for services to the Interfaith Community in West Yorkshire.
As well as his interfaith work, Richard has been the tireless Vice-chairman of the Foundation since it was formed in 2010, selling tables, sourcing equipment for grants to young people who require it and supporting all of the events. He was awarded the Order of the League of Mercy in 2018 for his work.

Dipesh Mistry 

Dipesh is the founder and director of Illuminate Wealth Management Limited. Working in banking and finance for 25 years in Yorkshire, he now specialises in working with business owners, professionals and families’ intergenerational wealth. He currently is also a mentor at Leeds University Business School.

Dipesh has worked with several local and national charities over the last 20 years and has supported the YYAF for the last 12. He has worked in partnership with the Rugby League Cares welfare team to create financial wellbeing support and education for players and staff.

Jan Fletcher OBE 

Jan Fletcher has successfully owned and operated a large number of diverse businesses.

Jan is currently a Board Director of INW Group and Chairman of Mera Investment Management, Rougemont Estates, CHR Group and Fletcher-Smillie Investments. These companies operate in sectors as diverse as the manufacturing of nutrition and wellness products, the syndication of commercial property investments and property lending and finance.

In addition Jan is co-founder of Prime Women and Primera, a US online magazine and TV network.

Jan has held a number of Chairman and non-executive director roles, particularly helping to steer growth, investment strategies, acquisitions and corporate governance.

Fiona Robinson FCIPD 

Fiona Robinson FCIPD is an experienced HR professional who has experience of both strategic and operational HR across a range of businesses in the local authority, financial services, recruitment and education sectors as well as with small-medium sized regional and international charities (Mind and Emmaus).

Sara Lamper – Press & PR

Sara Lamper provides PR support to Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation. Sara was a journalist for 13 years before spending eight years with public relations agencies. She has worked for a wide range of clients, from manufacturers to professional services, and in sectors ranging from packaging to property and from engineering to the law.

Sara has a thorough understanding of the needs of different types of businesses and organisations. Sara has created and led a wide range of different types of campaign, from new product launches to corporate news.
